Part-Time Faculty
Welcome and congratulations on your new employment with our District. Prior to your first date of employment, you will need to work with your Academic Human Resources Specialist to process your intake forms and obtain clearance to work. If you have not yet been contacted, please reach out to the assigned Human Resources Specialist listed below.
Your HR Specialist will assist you with the following requirements, which must be completed prior to your first day of work:
- New Hire Packet via Adobe Sign (hard copies available upon request)
- TB Risk Assessment Form to a medical provider licensed in the state of California and submit the completed form to your HR Specialist. Per and , District employees must be assessed every four years.
- Select a retirement plan (required, as academic positions do not pay into Social Security)
- Current and prior CalSTRS members will need to select CalSTRS
- All other new employees can select between CalSTRS and A.P.P.L.E.
- Live Scan clearance, as required by and .
- Print and take the State of California Request for Live Scan form to a location offering Live Scan services.
- If you would like to be reimbursed, retain your store receipt and submit it to your HR Specialist. Typical cost for the Live Scan process ranges from $70-$90

- Request official transcripts to be sent directly to the HR department from of all
colleges you have attended.

- Applicants for academic positions must have completed coursework that meets the . If an applicant does not have the exact degree title(s) listed, they can apply for equivalency. To apply, please complete the Supplemental Equivalency Application for Academic Employment and submit it with your online application and/or to your Human Resources Specialist.
Your HR Specialist will also inform you if there are additional requirements to teach in your discipline.
