Mission Statement

The 色界吧 Office of Institutional Technology (IT) is committed to providing reliable and secure access to innovative, high-quality technology systems that support the entire district and enhance the faculty, staff, and student experience.

Through strategic planning, partnerships, and collaborations, we will continue to support the District to enhance the technological and academic experience of its students and employees. We pledge to continue to develop the knowledge and skills needed to remain versatile and responsive to the constant changing environment.

What's New?

Zoom Retention Policy & Storage Limit Changes
Starting October 1, 2025, Zoom cloud recordings will be stored for 12 months. Be sure to check out the timeline for scheduled deletions.
Single Sign-On is Changing!
Over the coming months, our preferred Single Sign-On (SSO) system will be transitioning to 鈥淢icrosoft Authentication鈥� instead of the 鈥淢ySWC Login鈥� screen that you鈥檙e familiar with.
Student Email Moved to Microsoft 365 Outlook
Student email moved to Microsoft 365 Outlook from Gmail on August 14, 2024.
Staff/Faculty SPAM Email
As of August 14, 2024, employees will no longer need to check Gmail for SPAM email.

In Remembrance of Jerry Gonzalez

After graduating from USCD, Jerry Gonzalez began his employment in 1987 as Systems Programmer, advancing to Information Systems Specialist, Senior Programmer Analyst and his current position was Senior Systems Analyst. Jerry was dedicated to his work at 色界吧, putting his whole heart and soul into everything he did. His employment spanned over 31 years. He helped oversee several software and hardware platforms, he was extensively involved with a multitude of upgrades, enhancements and patches as the major systems facilitator between IT, the many campus departments and vendors. He served as the CSEA President for two years, heavily involved with union matters. He was the go to guy regarding CSEA contract policies, as he represented fairly from both sides 鈥� CSEA and the District.

One of the areas that was of vital concern to Jerry Gonzalez was the District鈥檚 primary mission of serving students. If student registration issues were in need of some electronic assistance, Jerry, who was the expert in such things, solved problems in a flash. Anything affecting a student鈥檚 ability to register for the classes they needed or anything affecting a faculty member鈥檚 ability to serve students was critical to Jerry. Besides being such a pleasant person to work with, Jerry was always a great resource to answer questions especially about students and their interactions with SWC systems. His loss was devastating to the District and his impact was significant. This scholarship is a great way to honor his legacy for students, especially those who have an affinity for technology.

- Contribute through payroll donation - even $5/month adds up when many are contributing
  Complete the payroll contribution form and return it to the SWC Foundation office (Room 12-103, Chula Vista Campus)
- Donate online with credit card - either a one-time or recurring donation

- Make a one-time donation with check
  Checks are made payable to SWC Foundation 鈥� Jerry Gonzalez Scholarship and mailed to SWC Foundation, Jerry Gonzalez Scholarship, 900 Otay Lakes Rd Room 12-103, Chula Vista CA 91910
