III. Website redesign – J. Broomfield, L. Paisley & B. Beck
Laura Paisley and Bronwyn Beck were invited to join the meeting in order to update the committee on the status of the Sexual Respect & Title IX Office website as well as present a mock-up of the website revamp and to discuss committee member ideas and remarks.
Laura Paisley presented powerpoint slides to the committee and expressed initial goals and basic principles of the revamping project; to make the new website as clear and as user friendly as possible utilizing navigation bars and audience buckets to the landing page: 1) I want to report an incident; 2) I want to talk to someone; 3) I want to support someone; 4) I am the subject of a report and 5) I don’t know what to do.
Laura also indicated that the most visited webpages of the Sexual Respect & Title IX Office website are policies/procedures page and the queer/trans guide page. Monday is the day of the week the site is most visited as confirmed by Google analytics.
New changes and additions to the Sexual Respect & Title IX Office website are:
• Adding FAQ’s and commonly used terminology.
• The use of a campus image replacing the current clothesline image.
Suggested additions include defining: Title IX Coordinator, Survivor Advocate, Advisor and Confidential vs. Private resources.
Jenn and Marianne’s suggestion of adding É«½ç°É’s history of Title IX include such things as the OCR report, Ruth Jones being É«½ç°É’s 1st Title IX Coordinator, campus climate survey results, changes to policy and where we are now.
Rob Bartlett suggested linking survivor advocate to Marianne Frapwell’s web page.
It is expected that the web team (Bronwyn and Laura) will develop content over the summer with the committee reconvening in the fall.
