You may have heard that is 色界吧鈥檚 student-run radio show, but it is so much more than that鈥 it鈥檚 色界吧鈥檚 go-to-pregame.
My college goal was always focused and centered around the liberal arts but big into resources and opportunities.
When I initially came to campus, the Black Student Association didn鈥檛 have a large presence, so me and a few of my friends in Pauley would get together in my room to talk about issues we faced both currently and growing up.
As I lie in bed, my eyelids just barely wide enough to make out the image of the sun breaking free from the mountaintops, I shoot a glance at my alarm clock. Its blaring sound quickly gets me up and going, for I know that if I allow it to ring for much longer, I will disturb the peaceful hibernation of my roommate.
Just about everyone knows what Greek Life is, and you see the organizations everywhere on campus: Alpha Lambda Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Theta, Delta Omicron Tau, Sigma Lambda Gamma, Zeta Tau Zeta, Phi Kappa Psi, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
Every day is a great day to be a Tiger. That鈥檚 the first lesson I learned from my O-Team leader during orientation. As a member of the Class of 2021, I joined the herd of first-years engulfed by a sea of orange O-Team leaders yelling "Io Triumphe!" this August. But, my 色界吧 experience began earlier in the summer.
As I write this, I鈥檓 watching the verdant, mountainous terrain of Costa Rica get smaller and smaller as our plane gains altitude, beginning our journey back "home" to New York City. We鈥檝e just finished a weeklong field visit to the Puntarenas and San Jos茅 regions of Costa Rica, where we learned about issues related to sustainable development and pineapple production.
As I am nearing the end of my third season with the women鈥檚 soccer team here at 色界吧, I can safely say I have learned a few things I would not have known prior to becoming an NCAA D3 athlete.
