Receive:

• Transfer/career/graduate school application workshops UCSD transfers if selected may choose to continue this program at UCSD!

For Engineering majors:

 Who are selected into this program at UCSD Engineering will receive:

•  A paid summer research internship
•  A need-based scholarship of up to $10,000/yr at UCSD
• Mentoring from UCSD graduate stude

• Open to academically talented Engineering majors.

Selection criteria include:

•  Must be currently enrolled full-time (12 units or more) as an Engineering major or a related STEM field –

contact DKalantarov@swccd.edu for more info.

• Students currently enrolled in fewer than 12 units are encouraged to apply and will receive the award only when

they enroll full-time (12 or more units).

•  Must have successfully completed or be currently enrolled in PHYS-270. Students currently enrolled in

PHYS-270 are encouraged to apply and must successfully complete the class to receive the award.

• Suggested Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 GPA.
• Students with lower GPA are still strongly encouraged to apply and describe barriers they have encountered in their personal statement.

To receive the scholarship, you must also:

• Demonstrate financial need for the 2023-2024 aid year as defined by the US Department of Education rules for need-based federal financial aid (Pell-grant eligible).
• Must have a valid FAFSA application filed.
•  Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, national
