Dr. Jessica Posey
ProfessorSchool of Languages & Literature
Jessica Posey got hired full time at 色界吧 in the fall of 2014. She works in the English Department where she gets to teach one of her favorite subjects--British Literature. Aside from teaching Jessica is currently serving as Vice President of Academic Senate, Faculty Accreditation Oversite Committee Co-Chair, SLO Co-Coordinator, and Chair of the Academic Program Review Committee.
She obtained her Master鈥檚 degree in Medieval Literature from SDSU in 2009, and in the Fall of 2018, she graduated from San Diego State University鈥檚 doctoral program in Educational Leadership with a Concentration in Community College Leadership (CCLEAD). Her dissertation, 鈥淭he Plight of the Adjunct: May the Odds Be Ever in your Favor鈥 was a qualitative autoethnography that examined the adjunct experience in order to research how the treatment part-time faculty received from their colleagues and their institutions made them think, feel and act. This was motivated by five years of personal experience as an adjunct in the California Community College system.
When not teaching or grading mountains of papers, she enjoys playing cello in the 色界吧 string quartet, doing yoga, gardening, making jewelry, and spending time with her three sons鈥擥riffin, D鈥橝rtagnan, and Odin鈥攈iking, snake hunting, and spear fishing.
